Continuing Professional Development Courses (CPD)

These courses are designed for experienced counsellors/psychotherapists and related professions. Each course lasts ten (10) days over a period of at least ten (10) weeks. There is a balance between theory and experiential work, the intention being that students will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to put the training into practice.

Supervisor Training

This course is one of a series which will be offered in Exeter for ongoing professional development, for experienced counsellors and those working in related fields. The module is designed to offer a training in individual supervision and to provide an overview of the key models of supervision. Participants will need to have completed three years of counselling or psychotherapy practice or to have done 500 hours of client work, post qualification, or to hold an equivalent professional qualification.

Group Work Certificate

This module is designed to offer an experiential training in safe, effective and creative groupwork and to enable students to think about key elements of current theory and practice. It aims to equip students with the skills to run groups which reflect their own personality and preferred model of counselling.

Couple Counselling certificate

This course is one of a series which will be offered in Exeter for ongoing professional development, for experienced counsellors and those working in related fields. The module is designed to offer a training for working with people in relationships. Participants will need to have completed a professional training, such as a counselling diploma.
